Wright’s earliest memories are of drawing and coloring as a toddler. He recalls getting my parents to be my first models! When he started school, he would draw pictures for his classmates to make friends. Today, he still love to connect with others through art.
His art education occurred much later in life. He followed his wife’s advice and he has learned so much from his art teachers, James Taylor, and Sylvia Cross. He is excited that his journey to express himself through art is just beginning. Most artists never share their artwork because they feel it is not their best work. He know that feeling well, but he want to share with you his journey. So, as you follow his work, he hopes to express more deeply what he sees.
As most artists, he draw upon his experiences for inspiration for his artwork. He enjoy the outdoors, sports, military service, and scouting which all provide the canvas for his ideas. Also, he enjoys capturing the narrative within the human face! His favorite medium is watercolor which allows him to capture the fluidity of movement. Art allows Wright to present to you the elements of a story but you get to fill in the blanks.
